Not sure if you ever found your answer o...Hi Steve,
Not sure if you ever found your answer on this great question. I am answering this to the best of my knowledge in researching all of Percy Faith's recordings, not only Christmas, but his other recordings as well. First, I found out from someone who had knowledge of the early Goodyear Great Songs Of Christmas releases, and I was advised that the very first release Volume 1 was only released as mono (stereo was not in existence quite yet) and to my knowledge all the recordings on that particular album were only released from mono sources of all the recording artists before stereo came about. In regards to the album Music Of Christmas, there are 2 completely different recordings in the space of time. Percy Faith recorded the mono album version in the 1950's before stereo even existed. Then when stereo was invented, Percy Faith went back into the studio and made a new recording in stereo, but the arrangements are not exactly the same even though the album songs are the same and in the same order. There are 2 different album covers also. So my answer to you is, that particular arrangement version of 'Come All Ye Faithful' is off the mono version album and only available as mono. Hope this helps you. I would like to find the stereo recording of the piece as it appears on the Goodyear album, but have not been able to find it. I even bought a 1950's import from Holland( on the Phillips label) of "Music of Christmas", hoping that maybe it was on there. Does anyone know whether or not Volume 1 of the Goodyear album was released in stereo?

Thanks so much.

Steve BarberStevehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16081708825649032090noreply@blogger.com
